George North Morris Art
George North Morris was an American artist, teacher and writer born in 1915. He exhibited widely and with success at prominent east coast museums, including at the Hopper House (NYC, 1981), the Hudson River Museum, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the A.M. Sachs Gallery and Museum of the Rhode Island School of Design. The recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards, Morris was awarded the MacDowell Colony Resident Fellowships (1969, 1970, 1971), the Yaddo Resident Fellowship (1976–78), the Caps Grant (NY Council on the Arts, 1976) and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (1990).
