George Petridis Art
George Petridis was born in Athens, Greece. His early life was a time of strife, fist living through the Nazi occupation, then the Greek Civil War. Around the age of 18, Petridis moved to Holland and began to paint after becoming involved with a woman whose father was an artist that offered to train Petridis in his studio. Petridis then moved to Paris and began selling his art on the streets, which initially got him arrested, as he was doing too without the proper permits. Later on, Petridis moved to the United States, where he continued to pursue his passion as an artist. His daughter, Melanie Petridis, wrote a book about his life, entitled Destiny of an Artist - The Artistic Journey of George Petridis. Petridis passed away on July 4th, 2016, and his ashes have been returned to his home country of Greece.
