About the Item
This artwork is part of a series of oil pastels from Marc Chaubaron, who aimed to keep a record of the old Saint-Goustan French port.
It features a corner house with a vegetated veranda, separated from the streets by a stone wall. An old-style lamp post and a prohibited direction sign are in front of the wall. A downhill street goes down on the left of the house, and an uphill street goes up on the right. The pinkish sky indicates the sun is about to set.
The artist used a homemade mixture of oil pastel and other ingredients. The painting is textured with small reliefs. As opposite to dry pastels, there is no risk of the painting falling off the medium.
This artwork is not framed.
