Guy Maccoy Furniture

Guy MacCoy worked at the Art Students League, winning a scholarship in 1930. He is important in the development of early serigraphy as an art medium. He did so under the WPA in the late 1930s. He and his wife artist Geno Pettit moved to Los Angeles in 1945. MacCoy founded the Western Serigraphy Society in Los Angeles in 1948. He and his wife were active serigraphers from the ‘30s. MacCoy taught and worked in Los Angeles in the 70s. In 1970, his home, studio and work were destroyed in a forest fire. Therefore his work is rare.
