A striking Norwegian Mid-Century style art glass figural sculpture of a Viking warrior with a shield, designed by artist Lena Hansson for Hadeland Glassverk (Norway). Unsigned. Standing 7 7/8 inches high, this substantial glass figure features a heavy solid glass body in deep, dark glass with rich purple and amethyst undertones that catch the light. The front is accented with an applied round glass shield medallion with raised stud details, and the piece is completed with a clear glass head topped with a horned helmet.
