Henri Lucien Joseph Buron Art
Henri Lucien Joseph Buron was born in Rouen where he studied first and, later, in Paris where he was a student of Francois Cormon and Albert Lebourg. A member of the Société des Artistes Français, he exhibited at the Salons from 1924 and was awarded a gold medal there in 1935. Buron won a variety of other awards and medals, including at the Universal Exposition of 1937 and was later appointed as a professor at his old school, the École des Beaux-Arts in Rouen. Buron's work is held in private and public collections including the permanent collection of Honfleur Museum. The artist is also listed in all relevant art-reference works, including Benezit's Dictionary of Artists, which offers a signature sample.
