Nude with a Fan is an original French figurative oil painting, dating to circa 1910 and attributed to Henri-Camille Danger (1857–1939). This unsigned work depicts a reclining female nude in a richly decorated interior, combining softly modelled flesh tones with lively, visible brushwork.
A glowing yellow lantern illuminates a setting of patterned blue textiles, warm red accents and green drapery. The fan and decorative accessories in the foreground add detail, while the figure's diagonal pose gives the composition movement and balance. The contrast between the luminous skin and surrounding fabrics creates an intimate atmosphere associated with Belle Époque interiors.
Danger was a French painter of figurative, mythological and allegorical subjects. His painting Fléau!, dated 1901, is held by the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. The present painting is offered as an attribution to the artist.
