This magnificent antique George V sterling silver jug has a circular rounded form onto a circular pedestal foot. The upper portion of this antique cream jug is embellished with an impressive applied strapwork band, in addition to a large fluted design to the underside of the lip, all in the Empire style. This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive cast spiralling handle accented with an impressive figural mask design. The circular spreading foot is embellished with further Empire style, architectural decoration. Such examples in this medial size is a redeeming and unusual factor; this versatile jug could be considered to be a small water jug or large cream jug.
