This refined Normandy composition captures the delicate light of Deauville at sunset. Subtle tonal transitions, elegant brushwork and shimmering reflections across wet sand create a serene yet sophisticated atmosphere characteristic of Grau Sala’s late style. After settling in Paris in 1936, Grau Sala became associated with the School of Paris, developing a distinctive figurative language influenced by Impressionism and Fauvism while maintaining his own balance of harmony and chromatic restraint.
