Józef Chyży was born in 1983 at Lewin Brzeski. A graduate of the Institute of Art at the University of Opole, he received a diploma with honors in 2008 at the graphic arts studio and an additional degree in painting. He is the laureate of the 1st Prize at the Quadriennale Woodcut and Linocut of Poland, Grand Prix at the Autumn Salon in 2016, Award of the President of Opole in the Field of Culture, ZPAP Awards at the Autumn Salon, Honorary Mention of the Opole Voivodship in the Field of Culture and awards.
