Lanvin Paris Link Necklaces

French

The career of Jeanne Lanvin (1867–1946) and her eponymous brand began with a millinery apprenticeship in the late 19th century. Today, Lanvin Paris is a globally revered company and is among the oldest French fashion houses still in existence. It is renowned for its exquisite and sought-after vintage evening dresses, shoes, skirts and other garments and accessories and for having dressed such high-profile celebrities as Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Kim Kardashian and Sienna Miller.

In 1889, when her apprenticeship came to an end, the young French designer Jeanne Lanvin opened a custom hat shop on the rue Boissy d’Anglas in Paris. Four years later, she moved her business into a much more prominent space on the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, one of the world’s most famous luxury fashion districts.

The new Maison Lanvin was big enough to display the pieces she would design for her daughter, Marguerite, who was born in 1897. The relationship between Lanvin and her daughter would be at the core of the brand, with a 1907 photograph of Jeanne and Marguerite in matching outfits inspiring the fashion house’s enduring logo.

In 1908, Lanvin launched a line of children’s clothing, one of the first such moves in high-end fashion. When mothers came in to buy the clothes, they often asked for similar designs for themselves.

Lanvin decided to introduce a women’s wear line with pieces that had a youthful femininity. This would grow to encompass everyday clothing, dresses, coats, lingerie and furs, as well as menswear, perfume and household items. Once she became a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture (Parisian Fashion Council) in 1909, her title officially switched from milliner to designer.

Along with her stylish designs, Lanvin identified the importance of brand identity through fabric colors, opening a dye factory in Nanterre, France. There the distinctive “Lanvin blue” was produced, so even if her designs were copied, the colors could never be exactly reproduced.

After Jeanne Lanvin's death, her daughter, Marguerite Marie-Blanche de Polignac, took over and a series of talented artistic directors would propel the brand through the trends of the 20th century, including Jules François Crahay, Dominique Morlotti, Alber Elbaz and, most recently, Bruno Sialelli. In 2018, Lanvin was acquired by the Fosun Fashion Group, which is now focused on celebrating Lanvin’s heritage while pushing it into a new chapter.

Bulgari 'Monete' gold Necklace, circa 1980
By Bulgari
Located in Malmö, SE
From the Italian Icon – Bvlgari – not only gorgeous and a stunning look, they also show cultural heritage and are interesting pieces of history that make great conversation pieces. We had the pleasure of selling a few different pieces from the collection during the years and just adore the style! It feels as good as it looks. Wearability is always key for Bvlgari and the result is a piece you will want to wear all day! Beyond chic. Rare 1980ies original fitted red leather box! Emperor Publius Septimius Geta. Born on 7th of March 189, 1835 years ago. He succeeded his father who intended for his two sons to rule together, however they proved incapable of sharing power. Geta´s rule was short. Four years passed before Geta was murdered by his brother while in their mothers arms. The brother who refused to share power and rule with Geta then ordered "damnatio memoriae", that Getas portrait and memory be erased from history. 20 000 of his followers is believed to have been murdered in the following purge. Very few portraits of Geta remain today. The necklace is 40,5cm long (15 ¹⁵/₁₆ In), 105.9gram, Back engraved GETA 209 - 213 D.C., original fitted case (rare). Never seen one with this kind of chain, the most common type is the curblink, so if you are looking for a unique one-of-a-kind collectors piece look no further! The coin really pops! Bulgari’s Monete collection is flush with cultural currency. – “Reaching back through the centuries, Bulgari honors antiquity with Monete. Revering the artistic coins of yore. Bulgari contrasts them with the brilliance of its modern style.” Like a rare gem of inestimable historical value this ancient Roman coin has found a new life as precious jewel. The use of rare coins reflected Bulgari’s commitment to honoring history—any irregularities or signs of wear were preserved. Monete pieces date back to the 1960s, when Rome was the epicenter of glamour - the so called “La Dolce Vita” era. During this time Bulgari began to make Monete a feature of the house’s narrative. Evoking Bulgari’s artisanal craftsmanship, avant-garde materials and unrivalled design as a stylish way to reference the family’s Greek and Roman roots. Both Grace Kelly and Elisabeth Taylor...

Signed CB, width 14 mm, length 42.5 cm, Weight 66.4 g About Bucherer: Blending the art of jewelry-making with exquisite watchmaking expertise- The Bucherer Fine Jewelry story began in 1888 when Carl F. Bucherer opened his first jewelry and watch shop in Lucerne, Switzerland. Carl Friedrich and his wife Louise wanted to seize the opportunity offered by an influx of wealthy tourists who came from all over Europe to admire the Alps and take in the fresh mountain air. The Bucherer store rapidly became a synonym for quality and originality. In 1919, Carl Friedrich Bucherer made a pioneering decision. He became the first watch retailer to start manufacturing watches under his own name. The first watch collection was released in 1919 and aimed at women. Bucherer was also one of the first watch brands to adopt watch straps. Pocket watches were still the more popular option among men at the time in the early 20th century. Wristwatches were seen as jewelry and still not a common accessory among women. Bucherer also came up with unique watch strap/bracelet designs of its own. In 1924 Bucherer decided to sell watches...
