Martin Wiegand Serveware, Ceramics, Silver and Glass

German, 1867-1961

Martin Wiegand was a sculptor and modeler. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Dresden and lived in Munich from 1888. The sculptor worked on behalf of Meissen manufactory in the period 1906–09. Because of this short period, the scale of Wiegand's Meissen work was not up to the mark. Due to this reason, the figurines created by Wiegand are very rare as well as much sought by knowledgeable Meissen collectors.
