Matthew Crane Art
Matthew Crane is a figurative painter whose work seeks to find a balance between violence and grace. As a self-taught artist, Crane merges abstract expressionism and classic figurative motifs to achieve an isolated and dissociative sense of drama, reflective of his military service during the Iraq war. Crane's work has been exhibited in group shows at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center, 464 Gallery, Damon Morey and has been featured in print in the Performer magazine and The Aquarian and Buffalo Spree magazine. Also, an accomplished musician, Crane and his band, The Albrights, have worked and collaborated with The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Nickelodeon, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Vitamin Water.
