Sandy Hunter Petyarre was born in 1953 in Irrultja, Utopia region. She is one of the few artists to continue painting with very fine points. Her works are characterized by high symmetry, wide patterns enclosed in these small points. Petyarre is a major contemporary Aboriginal artist.
