His "illusion sculptures" are amazingly only 1/16th of an inch thick and yet they appear to be 3 dimensional boxes with open centers that are stacked on top of each other. I have included a side view so that you can see how thin this illusion sculpture is.

We are excited to have this just completed 2021 metal illusion sculpture with an amazing see-through effect.
Sanseviero's metal sculptures fool the eye. His "illusion sculptures" are only 1/16th of an inch thick and yet they appear to be 3 dimensional boxes with open centers that are stacked on top of each other. He has now added to this just completed sculpture a remarkable effect that gives the work a transparent see-through appearance in some areas even though the sculpture is all metal. He has figured out a way to use linear edges on certain parts of the sculpture to create this special look. I have included different views of the sculpture so that you can see this effect.

He then paints his sculpture with a trompe l'oeil or Fool the Eye effect so that the flat sculpture has volume and depth, he then paints the reverse side in the same manner so that the sculpture can be displayed facing either direction or in front of a mirror.
