Grand sweeping clouds create a commanding presence in this quiet scene, with soft light dividing the landscape and the heavens. "The Pacific sky generates the most beautiful and spectacular array of colors and textures," says artist Sheila Finch. "I worked to capture all the subtle nuances of color - a vision of the dramatic blues and golds of upswept clouds beyond Crystal Springs Reservoir and the coastal mountains just as the sun sets. A vision to soothe and lift the soul."
About the Artist
Sheila spends many hours studying clouds from the cockpit of her sailboat on the California coast. She's frequently blessed with beaming sunrises and storms that create beautiful displays of light streaming across the ocean or shimmering off the nearby coastal mountain range. Sheila's award-winning paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. She has received recognition from the National Arts Appreciation Program, and her work has been exhibited at the prestigious L'Espace Bateau Lavoir in Paris.
