Susan Rankin (b. 1959, Moose Jaw, SK) has exhibited extensively across Canada, the US, Belgium, and Japan. Her award-winning blown glass vases and sculptures have earned the support of the Canada Council and the Ontario Arts Council. Her pieces are held in private, corporate,e and public collections in Canada, the US, and Belgium at the Corning Museum, NY, the Winnipeg Art Gallery, Global Affairs Canada, the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal the Flemish Centre for Contemporary Art, and more. Rankin’s works are subtly rich in colour and markings, expressing the beauty of the glass elements.

Kozuru casts and reconfigures molds of her own designs, classical and industrial turned architectural forms in unexpected materials. Using rubber, glass and clay she creates columns with undulating silhouettes. The “Lantern Columns” are a group of 7 towers, ranging from 4 feet to 7 feet tall. Hand blown glass rings of glowing blues and greens are stacked organically on seven stems in this charming outdoor sculpture by Susan Rankin. The stems that wave gently in the breeze are fixed to a steel plate. Base plate dimensions for "7 Columns" is 24 x 48 inches. "Using numerous columns to define a space, I incorporate light through the multiple transparent or opaque glass elements. Drawing on natural and abstracted forms I have created a series of work, which is harmonious and compelling through the seasons."
