At 4.29 p.m. on 9th February, 1927 Eduard-Wilfrid Buquet feild his patent for parts of this table lamp, particularly the flexible joints, at the Ministère du Commerce et l'Industrie in Paris. Various versions were produced until the 1940's. Although little is known about Buquet we do know that he produced this lamp himself and probably designed it as well. The “Buquet” table lamp is impressively functional, stunningly elegant and mysteriously fragile. It was developed in 1925 by a French engineer and designer by the name of Édouard-Wilfrid Buquet. He must have suspected that he’d created something special, as he patented parts of the lamp, especially the joints, at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Paris just two years later on 9 February 1927 – at 16:29, to be precise! While we know that Édouard-Wilfrid Buquet developed many fine lamps, that’s sadly where our knowledge about him comes to an end. However, the shape of the EB 27...

Artemide “Tizio” Adjustable Desk Lamp by Richard Sapper, Italy, 1970s

Located in Hannover, DE

An iconic masterpiece of modern design: the legendary Tizio desk lamp by Artemide, designed by Richard Sapper in 1972. This revolutionary lighting object is widely regarded as one of the most important design classics of the 20th century and is part of major museum collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art. The Tizio stands out through its groundbreaking engineering and unmistakable sculptural presence. Its elegant system of counterbalanced arms allows for effortless, precise positioning with just one hand, while maintaining perfect stability in any position. What makes this lamp truly exceptional is its innovative construction: electricity flows through the arms themselves, eliminating visible wires and enhancing its clean, minimalist aesthetic. Originally developed using halogen technology, the Tizio was a technical revolution of its time and remains a benchmark for functional design today. With its striking, architectural form and exceptional adjustability, this lamp is far more than a functional object—it is a true statement piece for modern interiors. Whether placed on a desk, in a study, or within a curated living space, the Tizio commands attention while delivering highly focused, adaptable light. ⸻ Details * Manufacturer: Artemide * Designer: Richard Sapper * Model: Tizio * Origin: Italy * Design period: 1970s (first introduced 1972) * Material: Metal / aluminum * Color: Black * Height: approx. 119 cm * Base diameter: approx. 11 cm * Light source: Halogen bulb (low-voltage system) ⸻ Condition Very good vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with age and use. ⸻ Technical Note Please note: This lamp is designed for the European power grid (220–240V). 1920s French Art Deco Table Lamp by Edouard Cazaux, Glass & Iron

By David Gueron Degue, Edouard Cazaux

Located in Saint-Amans-des-Cots, FR

French Art Deco Table Lamp by Edouard Cazaux for Degué, France, 1920s. Exceptional French Art Deco table lamp designed by Edouard Cazaux and produced by Degué, France, circa 1920s. This rare lamp features a very thick molded glass shade with a bold and highly stylized geometric Art Deco pattern, emblematic of Cazaux’s collaboration with Degué. The glass displays outstanding depth and clarity, showcasing the technical mastery of French Art Deco glassmaking. The lamp is supported by a superb hand-wrought iron base, perfectly complementing the sculptural quality of the shade. Considered among the finest productions by Degué, this piece is in excellent condition: No chips No cracks No repairs A fine glass thread, inherent to the manufacturing techniques of the period, is visible and documented (see photo). This is not a defect but a characteristic of authentic early 20th-century molded glass. The lamp is professionally rewired for your country (US, UK, EU, etc.) and is compatible with LED bulbs. A museum-quality example of French Art Deco lighting, ideal for collectors of Degué glass, Edouard Cazaux designs, and 1920s decorative arts. About Degué and Edouard Cazaux Degué was the artistic name of David Guéron (1892–1950), an enigmatic and influential figure in French Art Deco glass. Born in Turkey to Spanish Jewish parents, Guéron settled in France after serving in the French Foreign Legion during World War I. Following the success of the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in Paris, he established his glassworks in Compiègne, later opening Verrerie d’Art Degué in Paris. Degué became renowned for his innovative cameo glass, internally decorated vessels, sandblasted monochrome designs, and dramatic lighting fixtures. His production included vases, bowls, perfume bottles...

Located in London, England

1970s White opal glass domed shade table lamp originally designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld in Germany during 1924. Model WG 24. The lamp originates from an early reproduction by Tecnolumen in the 1970s. The glass shade is held onto the chrome-plated steel circular frame with three small screws which can be released when the shade requires cleaning, the bulb needs changing, storing or transporting. A vertical chromed-steel rod sits within a glass tube which supports the shade. A thick green-tinted glass circular base finishes off the lamp beautifully. The original on/off pull cord has been replaced with a chrome chain because it was frayed and about to snap. The lamp is in a very good vintage condition with some surface scratches on the base and a tiny 1mm chip on its edge. The makers label sits on one of the supporting arms to the shade. Makers stamp on the bottom of the chromed-metal rod underneath the base stamped - TECNOLUMEN BAUHAUS...
