Set of four cantilever side chairs produced by Tecta, following the D41 design developed by Marcel Breuer in the late 1920s. Each chair features a chrome tubular steel sled frame supporting a woven synthetic seat and back shell. The open basket-weave pattern in black synthetic material forms a continuous curved shell from seat to back, sitting atop the signature C-form cantilever base with small rubber feet. Breuer developed the cantilever chair concept at the Bauhaus, drawing on the structural principle that a continuous steel tube, properly tensioned, could replace the traditional rear legs entirely. The D41 became one of the definitive expressions of this idea, pairing the industrial clarity of the steel frame with a woven seat and back that softened the chair's structural rigor.
