We are pleased to offer this pair of blue and white Delft chargers are each decorated in the center with a large but delicate vase filled with chrysanthemums and peonies. The chinoiserie design on the center of the platter is derived from Chinese decoration where auspicious flowers were put in bamboo baskets as attractive interior decorative elements. The border of the charger is adorned with four floral panels, which alternate with four panels with fish-net patterns.. Made in the 18th century, circa 1780, both chargers have the mark of "The Axe". The edge of each of the chargers is painted with orange slip in the traditional style .
