Cuban vintage movie poster of 1978 Star studded film – Death on the Nile – Silkscreen by Reboiro in 1980. Titled “muerte en el nilo – film en ingles- dir: john guillermin – con: bette davis david niven mia farrow” – Printed reboiro/80 and ink signed reboiro. Condition: Very Good. No issues. Measurements: 18 inches wide x 28 inches high Antonio Fernández Reboiro is a Cuban Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1935. He studied medicine and architecture at the University of Havana. In 1963 he began working at the ICAIC (Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry) until 1982 designing posters. Most of the highly collectible Cuban posters are from mid-1960s through early 1980s, the period called “el periodo de oro de la grafica cubana” (golden period of Cuban graphics). These silkscreens were develop with new graphic techniques, due in part that materials were not readily available and lack of formal graphic schools. The Cuban posters became known for the use of bold innovate images which were mostly for proganda. Very decorative double-sided poster from Oge-Hachette, depicting the joys of life during the summertime and a visit to the hospital. This vintage wall decoration has wonderful details. Produced in France in the 1960s as educational tools for school children. Would be great in a classroom. This poster titles are "La Ferme and La Gare/The Farm and The Train Station. The item remains is very good condition. Would look great framed. Could be placed in a clear frame hanging in an open area for viewing on both sides. When arriving in class in the morning, the pupil discovered the lesson of the day to be taught, thanks to the educational poster/board hung on the wall by the teacher. Each was numbered and was part of a series developing a theme. For example geography, history or science with the famous object lessons! In general, the poster consisted of drawings that were at once schematic, figurative and very colorful which captured the attention of schoolchildren ...
