Walter Sobotka Seating
American, 1888-1970
Walter Sobotka was in a leading position in 1929, and from 1932–34, he was Vice President of the Austrian Werkbund. He designed for the Austrian Werkbundsiedlung in the 14th district two houses. In the interwar time, Sobotka worked in the circle of Jaques Groag, Felix Augenfeld and Josef Frank and was very successful. For a short time, he was involved in the interior company Haus & Garten by Josef Frank and Oskar Wlach. Sobotka was a friend of Josef Frank.
