This elegant American tea service in Britannia Metal consists of three pieces: a teapot, a sugar bowl, and a coffee pot/chocolate pot. The teapot and sugar bowl feature a round design with handles, while the coffee pot/chocolate pot has an oblong shape. All three pieces are fitted with lids topped with knobs. What stands out is the fine hand-engraved decoration, showcasing typically Victorian leaf motifs enriched with elegant and intricate scrollwork. The engraving extends from the lid to the middle of each piece, where it transitions into a decorative cartouche containing an engraved "K," presumably the initial of the original owner. On the bottom of each piece, a hallmark identifies the manufacturer and year of production. The service was crafted by Wilcox Silver Plate Co. of Meriden, Connecticut, in 1867, as verified by the hallmark.
