Willi Moegle (1897–1989) is known as one of the founding fathers of product photography. Along with Adolf Alzi his works had a large impact on the objective style of still life’s photography and its popularity for business and marketing. Willi Moegle studied Applied Arts in Stuttgart and after the Second World War he mainly worked for companies such as Bauknecht, Arzberg, Schönwald, Zwiesel, Jenaer Glas and C.H.Pott. His works can be characterized by a matter-of-fact style which photograph center is the posed product. Willi Moegle favored the design of the so called “Guten Form” with artists like Heinrich Löffelhardt and Wilhelm Wagenfeld. In 1978 Willi Moegle was awarded the David-Octavius-Hill-medal and in mid of 2006 Berlin State Library showed an exhibition with Willi Moegle’s famous photography.
