Jump at the opportunity to own this adorable Witco frog ottoman. This frog foot stool is one of the most rare Witco pieces. Call it what you will, a footstool, or a toad stool. He’s a seat for your bottom or your feet. The tiki inspired frog was carved from a single piece of swamp cedar wood. These Witco foot stools seldom come to market. When they do pop up, they’re battered and tattered. This charming guy is has been beautifully restored. The faux leopard upholstery is new. Mr. Froggy is looking chipper with freshly painted eyes and mouth, matching original spec. Fortunately, he has his original knobby eyeballs. The seat turns so you and Mr. Froggy can keep watch. This project was a complete tear-down and rebuild. Every section was unbolted and individually restored. This sinuous, dark cedar has been painstakingly detailed by our in-house restoration team to both preserve the patina and address any imperfections in the wood. Lightly recolored and clear-coated to accentuate and preserve the character. The seats and backs were professionally reupholstered, and the results speak for themselves. The two capitalized on the exotica trend by creating lavishly bold, roughly carved wood furniture and decor. The delightfully dramatic furniture was so beloved during the period that Elvis created an entire “Jungle Room” in his Graceland home featuring Witco furniture! Witco remains a mainstay among collectors today.
