Antique 18thC Spanish Colonial Icon Painting Retablo St. Camillus & Christ 1760

Located in Portland, OR

Antique 18th Century Spanish Colonial South American retablo, features Saint Camillus De Lellis (San Camilo), Patron Saint of The Sick, Peru, Cusco, circa 1760. This devotional retablo is sensitively painted on copper and housed in a gilt-wood frame. The painting depicts a scene of a recumbent figure, presumably Christ, attended by Saint Camillus De Lellis. The vignette is complimented by the presence of the devil's workers lurking in the upper right quadrant and contained behind bars in the far right corner. The painting is clear and prominent. This very attractive antique Spanish Colonial retablo...
