$3,800

About

Impressive Chinese late Qing dynasty four panel folding coromandel screen featuring carved soapstone. The lacquered panels are decorated with idyllic scenes of beauties in a pagoda pavilion engaged in leisurely activities. The bottom of each panel is decorated with carved flora and fauna scenes in a window. The entire screen is bordered with parcel gilt decorative patterns. Supported by square legs ending with brass clad feet. The reverse side has a parcel gilt flora and fauna landscape scene. The screen has a beautifully aged patina with charm and character from age on the lacquer and stone. From an estate in Los Angeles, CA.
