About McDevitt Metal

John McDevitt was born in the Cotswolds, England where he studied at several art colleges to graduate level. He later settled in Brooklyn, NY - opening a metal shop in DUMBO in 1992. His move to the United States also enabled further study of the craft, obtaining instruction by Frank Turley in New Mexico & courses at The Pratt Institute in New York. McDevitt’s long association with NYC based antique dealers Burden & Izett led to his work being acquired by some of the world's leading interior designers, as well as establishing an auction record at Christie's.
