About Smilow Design
Smilow Design is a third-generation family-owned design company that produces furniture, lighting, and glasswares. Judy Smilow (1958–2018), designer and founder of Smilow Design LLC, grew up “modern” in a Frank Lloyd Wright cooperative community surrounded by her father’s artwork and furniture. Her father, Mel Smilow (1922–2002) designed and retailed modern furnishings through his six independently owned stores from 1949 through the late 1970s.
