About Christine Markatos Design
Christine Markatos Design is a boutique interior design studio specializing in customized residential projects, led by founder Christine Markatos Lowe. Known for her artistic perspective and her ability to work in a wide variety of styles, Christine’s aesthetic is best described as an imaginative union of modern and classical influences, where elegant rooms are enlivened with a fresh mixture of pattern, color and texture. The result is a timeless, distinctive point of view tailored specifically to each project and client.
The studio is comprised of a select team of designers and architects that Christine guides to execute her vision through a worldwide network of craftspeople and resources. She and her team are intuitive problem solvers with a meticulous attention to detail. Organization and communication form the backbone of the team’s commitment to client service and professional collaboration with contractors, architects and artisans while creating beautiful interiors. Comprehensive design services start from initial architectural inspiration through final white glove installation. A la carte services include furnishings packages with art and accessories, interior architecture detailing and elevations, exterior space design, custom kitchens and bathrooms, custom furniture design, millwork/cabinetry design and hard surface and finish selections.
Christine received her B.A. in Studio Art from Trinity College and an M.F.A in Sculpture from the Art and Architecture School at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to founding her studio in 2005, Christine spent twelve years working for top-tier design firms across the country including Peter Marino Architect, Michael S. Smith Inc and The Wiseman Group. Her work has been featured in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, The Wall Street Journal, The LA Times, Luxe Interiors and Design, Coastal Living and Domino.
