About Savage Interior Design
As a native of Tennessee, raised by a family prominent in real estate development, and a mother with a love for the fine arts, Jonathan’s southern heritage and upbringing is a compliment to his love of design. His mother kept on hand many issues of Better Homes & Gardens and House Beautiful, which was a wonderful source of inspiration for young Jonathan. With this foundation, it’s no surprise that he found his passion for interior design.
After graduating from O’More College of Design in Franklin, Tennessee, Jonathan set his sights on New York City, the epicenter of design and inspiration. “I knew that if I wanted to do design as a career, I would have to spend some time in New York. Working under two of the most talented designers of our time, Albert Hadley and David Kleinberg, was icing on the cake,” said Jonathan. While designing a combination of modern and traditional spaces from the Hamptons, to lofts in New York City, he refined his eye and found his personal design aesthetic; modern with a classic twist.
After spending a few years working at DKDA in New York, Jonathan knew it was time to return home. He headed back south, to set up his eponymous firm, SAVAGE Interior Design. SAVAGE Interior Design designed interiors for Traditional Home’s O’More College of Design Showhouse in 2013 and 2014. Jonathan was honored to design the front entrance to the Nashville Antiques & Garden Show, paying homage to Nashville’s own famed Interior Designer, Mr. Albert Hadley, allowing him to showcase his skills and passion for design to a broad audience.
