Sophie founded her interior design & creative direction practice, Studio Ashby Ltd, in 2014 at the age of 25. With a long-held determination to set up her own business, Studio Ashby was born as Sophie won her first client; within weeks, one client quickly swelled to three and things have continued to grow, steadily from there. Started from a laptop, with no investment and working from cafes, Studio Ashby has grown to become a team of nine, with a new studio in Notting Hill.
Studio Ashby’s diverse roster of projects include a townhouse in Chelsea for a young Italian family, a luxury boutique hotel in South Africa, a penthouse in Battersea, a rambling country house in Somerset for the actress Gabriella Wilde and her young family, a Nigerian influenced restaurant in Mayfair and a development in Mayfair with Native Land. Recently completed projects include a holiday house in France in Capestang, on the canal. A large penthouse in Chelsea for a young Russian family. A beach house in sunny Salcombe, Devon. Penthouse apartments in the stunning new skyscraper South Bank Tower, a mew house in St James' and a large penthouse in Soho. Having created a reputation for being the ‘wild card’ in the development world, Sophie has been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest players in the property industry already. Studio Ashby have recently been appointed as the interior designers for two different large scale residential development projects in London for which they are designing apartments, residential facilities and gardens from the ground up. Sophie has also been appointed as the Creative Director for the schemes and will be involved in designing and controlling the look and feel of the entire developments. Studio Ashby were shortlisted for the International Interior Designer of the Year 2015 and 2016.
