By Curtis Jeré
Located in Lambertville, NJ
A monumental and sculptural pair of Mid‑Century Modern Brutalist table lamps by Curtis Jeré, crafted in the 1970s and signed on the original metal tags affixed to the wood bases. Each lamp features Jeré’s iconic stacked chrome steel cube construction, a geometric cubist design with strong Brutalist influence — bold, architectural, and highly dimensional.
Both lamps illuminate from two sources: a bulb concealed within the chrome cube base and a standard socket at the top, controlled by a switch on the cord. The internal base lighting dramatically enhances the reflective chrome surfaces and emphasizes the sculptural Brutalist form.
A rare and striking feature:
The two lamps can be combined and stacked to create a single 38‑inch “skyscraper” lamp, forming a vertical architectural tower reminiscent of Jeré’s sculptural works.
Condition
Original wiring in working condition; one lamp retains a shorter 21‑inch cord. Age‑appropriate patina to the chrome surfaces, with one base showing additional spotting consistent with vintage wear.
