19th Century Pillows and Throws

Circa 1900 France - Tassinari & Chatel Beautiful Art Nouveau period silk Brocatelle wall panel by the famous painter and decorator Adrien Karbowsky made by Tassinari & Chatel. Graphic composition with flowered basket of poppies and laurel wreaths in shades of burgundy, wine lees and golden yellow. Complete panel with selvedge framed by an original Jacquart woven braid sewn on all four sides. Skilful bumpy weave with twill background and raised damask design. Very slight variations in the colours of the original weave which give all the charm to this piece with subtle tones. Cleaned piece with a very slight patina on the dents. Otherwise stable condition, no holes. Good general condition of colour and conservation.
