Two pair 19th century French Louis XVI painted interior doors are a remarkable find, indeed! The set was designed as two distinct pairs, with each pair having a distinct left & right door, and a total of four distinct relief works, one on each door! Three tailored panels define the door architecture, with the relief work appearing on the uppermost panel. One door features a musical instrument theme with various instruments "suspended" by ribbon tied by a bow at top, with a musical score in between. The ribbon and bow motif are continued on the other three panels, but the themes change. The second door depicts subjects involved in fishing, from nets to seaside foliage, even a fish on a pole! The third is a gardening theme, with rake, scythe and more, including a triangular soil aerator. The forth depicts the objects of the hunt, from a flintlock rifle...
