This pair of antique doors was hand-carved from teakwood in India during the 1800’s. The tall and slender doors are adorned with rectilinear panels of various sizes and orientation. Each quadrilateral features cavetto molding and has been incised with a quatrefoil, or in the case of the larger panels, up to three conjoined trefoils. As is sometimes the case with Indian doors, the excavated areas have been inset with a thin sheet of brass. The wood between the panels has been carved with a crenellated motif punctuated with brass nailheads.
