The cartouche-shaped frame cornered by espagnolettes and centered by two love doves perched on acanthus leaves and roses, with a lyre crossed with a quiver of arrows. The sculptural Mounts designed by Leon Message Stamped BF (Bouhon Frères) and B&C 40 to the backside of the bronze mounts. Maison Bouhon Frères was an important French producer of fine fireplace tools in the nineteenth and twentieth century.
