The disc-shaped case decorated in a stunning deep crimson guilloché enamel with a silver trimmed rim. The hinged lid showing a gilded interior surface bearing impressed makers marks for Norwegian artist Marius Hammer & silver purity marks denoting .930 silver fineness (greater than sterling silver), opening to reveal a white enamelled interior. In extremely good overall condition with one very minor flake near the hinge. Marius Hammer (1847-1927) was one of Norway’s most illustrious silversmiths whose firm & works were represented in Liberty of London's Christmas catalogues in the late 19th century.
