An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage George VI English sterling silver and blue enamel cigarette case; an addition to our enamel and silver collection.
This fine vintage George VI sterling silver and enamel cigarette case has a rectangular chamfered shaped form.
The anterior and posterior hallmarked covers are each embellished with a central blue guilloche enamel panel which reflects a wavy concentric ring design, emanating from the centre; displaying enamel to both surfaces is a fine and desirable feature.
The enamel design is bordered with further blue enamel panels, all segmented with silver bands ornamented with a simplified repeating bead and spindle motif.
This vintage case is fitted with a plain thumbpiece and push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments.
This fine example of vintage silverware retains the original gilt interior.
Condition:
This vintage blue enamel case is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The enamel is in perfect condition. Full hallmarks struck to the interior reverse cover and part hallmarks to the interior front cover are all very clear.
