19th Century English Twin Fusee Bracket Clock. Clock features carved foliate scroll and gadroon mahogany case on four bun feet. Case showcases a rich grain and carved acanthus scrollwork embellishing the base and pediment. The circular dial, adorned with Roman numerals and decorative flourishes, is set with a brass bezel and signed R. Cave, Dover. Silk backed filigree sound windows on sides. The clock houses an 8-day twin fusee movement, striking the hour on a bell, a hallmark of quality English bracket clocks from this period.. This R. Cave bracket clock offers both timeless style and mechanical excellence--an exceptional addition to any mantel, library, or antique clock collection.

This beautiful wall clock was made by Thwaites and Reed in the late 19th century. The case is mahogany and numbered 118 with a small ivorine plaque - these clocks were made for establishments such as the Inns of Court and the Bank of England in London. The company were also employed to service them. The clock is wound with the original key and has a lovely deep tick tock (no chime). The diameter of the clock face is 30cm.
