Antique Early 1900s Majestic Hand Carved Oak Display Sculpture Stand / Pedestal
Located in Lisse, NL
Stunning classical style display column with a wonderful and warm patina. This marvelous piece of early 20th century workmanship is another fine example of the quality that was made in those days. All handcrafted out of oak and beautifully patinated from top to bottom this antique stand is a real eyecatcher and over the many decades the patina has only made this antique more attractive. This highly stylish, strong and very stable stand will easily take one of your heavier sculptures as well. The combination of the circular, heavy stem with its classical carvings and cannelures and the square base and table top make this stylish antique an absolute joy to own and look at. 18th Century French Oak Winged Cherub Carving on Stand
Located in Dallas, TX
This detailed winged cherub face is surrounded by stylized foliate wings. Hand carved in France, circa 1750, the oak wood has been bleached at some point, revealing beautiful wood grain. The back of the carving reveals an interesting series of architectural moldings, indicating that this was once part of a larger installation which would have been viewable from the back. Oak was the preferred wood for crafting furniture and carving up until the 1700’s. The wood is strong and sturdy, ensuring that pieces would endure. These qualities also make it difficult to carve, indicating that our cherub was created by someone with great skill. At slightly over 13 1/2 inches tall, this beautifully detailed, winged cherub carving...

Mid-17th Century Portuguese Carved Reliquary Bust of "Saint Margaret of Antioch"
Located in Dallas, TX
This antique bust of "Margaret the Virgin" was created in Portugal circa 1660. The saint, with the original polychromed and gilt finish, houses a small relic, a piece of hand-sewn fabric on the front of the bust by Margaret's heart, protected with glass. The fabric is rhombus-shaped with a scalloped edge, and showcases an intricately stitched, small, shining heart which appears to be bleeding next to a long floral branch. Margaret herself is depicted wearing a serene expression and a headpiece which fully covers her hair. Her arms cross in front of her and it appears as if there were once hands attached to the ends of them which have been lost. The religious figure is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a wonderful patinated polychrome finish. Saint Margaret...
