About the Item

An impressive and extremely high quality Italian 19th century ormolu statue signed Vanetti. The statue is raised by a rectangular base with a wonderfully executed ground design where a Roman gladiator is riding his chariot pulled by three horses. He is firmly griping the reins with his chariot leaning back while dressed in classical attire with his cape billowing in the wind. The handsome and wonderfully executed horses are rearing with exceptional attention to detail. All original gilt throughout.
