Dating from the late 18th to mid 19th centuries, this wooden mould has been exceptionally hand carved by talented Victorian artisans, these elaborate details originally used to cast details in composition for the frames of pictures and paintings. This mould is inscribed with design number 4968 to the front and features a beautiful design deeply carved into the wood. This results in a highly ornate and precise compo embellishment that appears as though it has been carved rather than cast.
