The reverse surface of each bowl is embellished with cloisonné floral and scrolling leaf designs on black enamel background, accented with various unusual tones of polychrome enamel highlighting the bead, spindle and tear drop ornamentation. The enamel segments are encompassed with applied silver gilt paralleling rope twist ornamentation. The posterior surface of each handle incorporates a lobed knop to the shoulders. The spoons terminate with blue and maroon toned cloisonné enamel decorated hand pieces encompassed with alternating bead and spindle designs, in addition to a lobed coronet style finial to each terminal.
