Decorated in sepia over a white background, this porcelain plate is part of the Topkapi series, inspired by its namesake palace in Istanbul that served as the headquarters of the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. As seen from a closed gate, the lovely outdoor scene of a tent among trees is rendered in vivid and naturalistic details and evokes the mysteries and elegance of ancient Turkey. Either used with identical ones, or combined with other pieces of different colors from the same series, this plate will be a superb addition to any table.
