A refined mid-20th century French porcelain serving compote by Sèvres, designed and decorated by Salvador Rosa, circa 1950. This elegant tableware piece features a single-tier, round form resting on a circular base, with delicately hand-painted interior decorations and gilt trim, exemplifying the exquisite artistry of Sèvres porcelain.
The compote’s decorative scheme includes a central allegorical scene inspired by the work of Salvador Rosa, surrounded by a border motif of trailing roses, a pink bowknot, and a blue wreath. The gilded edges and detailed hand-painted design highlight the fine craftsmanship and artistic refinement characteristic of Sèvres porcelain from this period.
Each piece bears the Sèvres factory mark and Salvador Rosa’s impressed signature on the underside, confirming authenticity and origin. The compote measures approximately 6 inches in height by 9.7 inches in diameter. It is in good antique condition, showing minor wear consistent with age and use, with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
