Large 1946 “She Wrote the Book” Movie Poster
Located in San Francisco, CA
This nearly seven-foot-high work is an original theatrical three-sheet poster for the 1946 screwball comedy “She Wrote the Book.” These large-format advertisements were primarily used for larger theater lobbies or exterior display boards. They were typically printed in two separate sections meant to be aligned during mounting, as shown on linen in this piece. Featuring a vibrant Golden Age stone lithograph illustration style, the poster captures the slapstick and glamorous dualities of the plot. It highlights the film's primary cast, directors, and creators under the historic Universal Presents banner. At the bottom right, the code 46/594 designates its release information tracked by the National Screen Service (NSS), specifically indicating a film certified for the year 1946. Supporting performers include legendary character actors Mischa Auer, Kirby Grant, and Jacqueline de Wit, as well as a young Gloria Stuart...
