This one-of-a-kind organic modern ceramic table lamp is hand-built in high-fired stoneware in Detroit and produced as a unique work in 2024. Rooted in contemporary design and architectural restraint, the form translates branching desert structure into sculptural illumination.
Cactus Lamp 1 introduces the vertical rhythm that defines the series. Articulated ceramic projections rise from a grounded base, creating a composition that balances organic reference with structural clarity. The silhouette remains disciplined and resolved — abstraction over literal interpretation.
Illumination emerges from the terminal bulbs positioned at the ends of the branching forms, allowing light to radiate outward and define the perimeter of the structure. The exposed bulbs activate negative space and reinforce the architectural line of the piece.
High-fired for permanence and material depth, the ceramic body carries subtle tonal variation unique to this work. In daylight, the lamp reads as sculptural object. When illuminated, it becomes dimensional and spatial.
