13 generations of this family have been around since the 1960s
actively engaged in: turning, pouring, drying, baking, glazing and
painting all kinds of earthenware.
At the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century the
names of François and his son Antoine Dubois.
Father François went to work in 1882 as a young porcelain painter in the well-known
plateel factory from # Wasmuël.
Ten years later he founded this region with his son and teacher-artist
Emile Lombart, the faience series of # Saint-Ghislain.
In 1909 father and son move to #Anderlecht (#Brussels) where they stay until 1917
remained active and especially beautiful hand painted earthenware tile pictures
produced. The death of Mrs. Dubois in 1917 and a devastating event
fire in 1919 ... the family decided to return to Mons.
In 1920, after the death of father François, Antoine founded a simple limited partnership with three other partners. With the production brand: 'Mons Poterie Belgique or in Mons Pottery Belgium...
