Poul Henningsen 'PH 2-1' Opaline Glass and Chrome Wall Lamp for Louis Poulsen
By Louis Poulsen, Poul Henningsen
Located in Glendale, CA
Poul Henningsen 'PH 2-1' Opal Glass and Chrome Wall Lamp for Louis Poulsen These refined wall lamps are an addition to the Louis Poulsen PH collection and are based on Poul Henningsen's original drawings from the late 1920s and early 1930s. Poul Henningsen designed hundreds of lamps based on the three-shade-system he developed in 1926, pioneering unequalled lighting quality for all types of needs. Executed in mouth-blown white opal glass, the shades are meticulously crafted at Louis Poulsen's factory in Vejen, by Louis Poulsen's own staff – a craft only very few are trained in. They are then carefully perched atop a high luster chrome-plated spun brass arm and attached to matching chrome...

Poul Henningsen PH5 Mini Pendant in Modern White for Louis Poulsen
By Louis Poulsen, Poul Henningsen
Located in Tilburg, NL
Poul Henningsen PH5 mini pendant for Louis Poulsen. Designed 1958, Mini in 2017. New, current production. Poul Henningsen developed the PH 5 in 1958 in response to constant changes made to the shape and size of incandescent bulbs by bulb manufacturers, naming it after the Size of the pendant’s main shade, which is 50 cm in diameter. When the lamp was introduced, he wrote, typically daringly, about how he had lost faith that the manufacturers of incandescent light bulbs would ever learn to consider common sense or have the consumer’s best interest at heart: “I have accepted fate, and with Louis Poulsen´s permission I have designed a PH fixture, which can be used with any kind of light source, Christmas lights and 100 W metal filament bulbs. Although a fluorescent tube would be too much to ask in the existing form!” At the time, now one knew that the PH 5 would become synonymous with the PH light...
